WATER-COOLING CABLES
Our water-cooled cables are used in all types of electric arc furnaces for steel and iron-alloys, induction furnaces and galvanic plants all over the world. Design
Brar is the only company that can offer three different types of water-cooled cables.
Star lay cable (SPM)
Rope lay cable (SR)
Concentric lay cable (EPC)

BIMETALLIC ARMS COPPER-STEEL
We design and manufacture traditional and also innovative power conducting arms made of copper/steel or aluminium.
Our philosophy has always been to provide a "turnkey" system, taking care of everything from the design phase to production and installation with on-site assistance.
Materials and Structure
With many installations all over the world, our power conducting arms represent the "state-of-the-art", designed and manufactured using the very latest technology, to meet the requirements of a modern steelworks.
The central section of the arms consists of bimetal steel/copper plates.
These bimetal plates are made of P275NH steel and Cu-HCP oxygen-free copper, and are joined using an explosion bonding technique.
Our arms are reinforced inside to compensate for the pressure of the cooling water and increase the mechanical strength of the arm.
The special internal design also guarantees fast cooling water flow near the outer walls, where the heat is generated.

FORGED AND SEMI-FINISHED COPPER PLATES
Copper plates are very important parts in power conducting arms.
For this reason Brar only uses Cu-HCP electrolytic copper of the very highest quality to produce its plates.
Starting from a billet, the process involves:
> forging
> first mechanical working
> watertight welds
> finishing
> final testing (pressure and dimensional testing)

COPPER PANELS
Copper panels are used as they offer the best heat transfer due to their notable conductance, and thanks to this characteristic can guarantee:
>less deformation than iron tubes
>greater waste accumulation for greater protection

Copper panels are obviously only used in high-temperature zones to optimize furnace energy consumption
